Dear Friends and Supporters of “Ferraris on the Vine”:

As you know, the US economy is and has been facing significant difficulties, with high unemployment, a rising cost of living, and a stagnant housing market.  The Williamsburg area has been particularly hard hit.  Unemployment in the City of Williamsburg is over 15%, more than double the Virginia average, and many of our neighbors are struggling just to get by. 

The Williamsburg Winery has been a part of the Williamsburg community for over 25 years.  Our success has been in part due to our ability to respond to the needs of the community.  In the current environment, we do not feel that hosting a high-profile event featuring luxury automobiles, even with a charitable component, is sensitive or appropriate.

Accordingly, although our annual “Ferraris on the Vine” event is dear to our hearts, we will not be hosting the event in 2012.  We look forward to revisiting the event in 2013, or when the economic realities that we are all facing allow.
